"There are rules for grammar and none for imagination."

 

 

I have always written about various topics, but I never imagined that it would lead me to publish books. I thought that short writing was my strength since my stories were often confined to a single paragraph or just one or two pages. Additionally, I wrote songs and, on several occasions, penned poems without music.

My experience at CNN en Español also honed my ability to synthesize news stories in 30 seconds or less.

Although I had written scripts for television and film, the idea of writing a book never crossed my mind. However, something sparked my interest in creating more detailed and in-depth stories. The question was: where do I start, and what do I write about? By removing obstacles and expectations, everything began to flow naturally.

To my surprise, it felt as if a floodgate opened, revealing books I never imagined I would write, all waiting for their turn.

And to this day, I still don't know which one will be next.

"Hay reglas para la gramática y ninguna para la imaginación".

​

Siempre escribí sobre distintos temas, pero no sabía que eso me llevaría a publicar libros. Me había hecho a la idea de que lo mío eran los escritos cortos, pues a menudo mis historias eran contadas en un solo párrafo o en una o dos páginas. Y como también escribía canciones, en más de una ocasión compuse poesías sin música. A eso se sumó el estilo de redacción mientras trabajaba en CNN en Español, el cual me obligaba a sintetizar una noticia en 30 segundos o menos.

Ya había escrito libretos y guiones para televisión y cine, pero no me pasaba por la mente escribir un libro. Sin embargo, algo me empujó a desarrollar historias con más detalle y profundidad. ¿Pero por dónde comenzar? ¿Y sobre qué escribo?, me preguntaba. Con el solo hecho de no ponerme obstáculos o expectativas, todo empezó a fluir.

Entonces se abrió una compuerta que me tomó por sorpresa, porque fue como si estuvieran esperando su turno los libros que nunca hubiera imaginado que escribiría.

Y aún no sé cuál es el siguiente.
